Punkmonkey Pictures has produced many programs over the past decade. Most of the freelance/artistic endeavors are available for viewing on YouTube, at the Punkmonkey Channel.
Below are listed some of the more recent productions, chosen to give a quick impression at the breadth and quality of the work done thus far. The best is yet to come.
Gabe (Brian DiBonaventure), a villain of unknown origin, in a scene from The Secret Door.
The Secret Door * this film is intended for mature audiences
An innocent young girl, abandoned by her boyfriend
and
stuck in the pitiless, rust belt town of Reading, Pennsylvania. Little
does she
know that she is being stalked by a mysterious stranger, a bloodthirsty
killer
of unknown origin. Her only hope may be an ignored homeless man that
local
people call The Wisdom Tooth. He detects the mysterious stranger and
understands
the danger. He knows he must do something but can he emerge from his
drunken
haze and rise to the occasion? He must warn her or be forced to watch
her
die at the hands of a monster that can't be stopped.
The Secret Door is the first cinematic, narrative work from Punkmonkey Pictures creator, Ed Ballinger. Completed in 2009 and debuted in 2010, The Secret Door represents both an ending and a new beginning for Ed as a craftsman. The film marked an ending to the self-limiting, narrow view
of what was possible as a "videographer" and opened a new direction as cinematographer and auteur. It has become clear that anything is possible, one need only imagine it.
The latest installment the long collaboration with Grind Metal luminary, Richard Hoak. Rich has rightly earned a loyal following in the metal music scene as the drummer for Brutal Truth as well as his many other music projects. This video for Total Fucking Destruction ratchets up the visual intensity, conveying the true experience of a band worthy of its name.
